Akon, Napalm Death, and a pomegranate…..

It took me awhile, but I finally found out where David Guetta took the beat for “Sexy Bitch”. From none other than the lovable lads of England, Napalm Death! Now, there may not be a stark resemblance in the song vocal wise between Akon, and Barney Greenway, but the backbeat is similar. Maybe I just ate a bad plate of mussels in pomegranate sauce, or I’m spot on with this.

Its nice to see the house dj’s of today roaming the valleys of death metal for inspiration. I hope this becomes the norm. As for Akon, I’m still waiting for him to do guest vocals on the next Cephalic Carnage album. One can only wish. Anyways, both tracks are off the hizzle.

Well….not really, but they bring the funk. Das Racist are a bunch of Hare Krishna thugs from Brooklyn New York, so I guess you can call ‘em Krishnacore. They may not be in the Napalm Death, or Agnostic Front realm of things, but they name drop the Bad Brains in their bomb track “Fake Patois”, so it’s good enough for me.

“Dizzy” Dean Davidson back in Britney Fox….

For all of you hard rock glam nerds at heart like myself who just can’t get enough, well here is some fabulous news to report. Britney Fox’s original singer “Dizzy” Dean Davidson is finally returning to the band after abruptly leaving twenty years ago. I for one welcome this move, as the Fox was never the same band without Mr. Davidson at the helm.

Dean back in the day, used to get so much flack from the hard rock community about his blatant vocal style rip off of Tom Keifer from Cinderella. It took such a toll on him, that when he left Britney to create his own his band Black Eyed Susan, he abandoned his raspy vocals stylings all together, instead going for more of a cleaner sound. Black Eyed Susan made one album in 1991, then grunge took over and killed poor Susan. After that, Dizzy Dean fell off the face of the planet. Well now he’s back, and the whole world can breath a sigh of relief.

Now what I’m about to show you isn’t pretty, so for all of you Brutal Truth, Napalm Death heads…..you have been warned. By the way, it’s totally obvious to me now where Thom Yorke got the concept idea for OK Computer.
