Merauder – God Is I

What can be said about this record other then….AAARRRGGHH!!!!! If you miss the days of Beneath The Remains, For Those Who Were Crucified, and Left Hand Path, then this is it right here. This is brutal as hardcore gets, and done none better then the guys who created this slow, grinding, Cro Mags meets Entombed mess of a style that is so often stolen by other bands.
Jorge is the best frontman in the scene, & his vocals are as low, gutteral, brutal, and convincing as usual with all others acting as imitators. The production is one of the keys here, as all instruments are up front and none are buried in the mix. The album crushes from beginning till the bitter end with a nice flow that ranges from fast, to mid tempo, to slow grinding. Merauder have also added a hint of melodic swedish thrash in some of the songs like Gangsta & the closing track Never Surrender (this might be due to touring with The Haunted last year). This album is thuganomics 101 for all you weak ass wannabe tough guys…so go out and grab it.
